Dancehall artiste Aidonia, isn’t showing any remorse for ‘stubborn’ Jamaicans who continue to risk the country at large during COVID19.
The “… Non Smile,” entertainer Aidonia is urging all artistes and those in dancehall with large notoriety to encourage Jamaicans to comply with the directives of the jamaican government in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus on the island.
On Wednesday afternoon on social media, Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced that the island recorded a new all-time high in Covid-19 cases reaching 143 confirmed cases island wide, majority of the new cases coming from a call center in St. Catherine, Alorica Inc, reportedly owned by JP Morgan Chase LLC, an American holding company registered in the United States.
Jamaicans fearing a potential situation like Italy where infected persons fled quarantined areas which caused the virus to spread and get out of control, leading to thousands of deaths as the country’s health system grappled to treat those infected, have condemned the actions of those who fled the quarantine.
Aidonia took to social media to express his anger and disgust as he called out persons who were not cooperating with the government orders.
“right now, nuh man nuh bring nuh %$$ery to me! People wid sense we a address! Government a try dem best but if we as a nation na work wid d system wah unu tink ago happen? Like unu a wait till dis ting get outta hand before unu see da seriousness a wah really a gwan”, he questioned on Twitter.
In conclusion Aidonia called on other voices in the dancehall fraternity to speak up and use their influence to encourage Jamaicans to cooperate.
“artistes now is da time to use ur social media and talk to u fans and the people of Jamaica about the seriousness of the covid 19 and letting them know to work with whatever system the government has in place…same way we use we voice fi get FAWUDD! Use it ya now to do some good!”
