The self-proclaimed Manhimself, o.c. Alkaline reinforces his positioning within the streets of Dancehall in his new track, “Monopoly.”
The ever – witty word play ‘maestro’ lyrically demonstrated how he always out smart his adversaries by always having control of the streets hence the song title Monopoly (A classic board game which challenges players to control the streets by obtain all the properties and secure the largest cash flow)
Dancehall Insiders are referring to the track as an obvious Popcaan diss track given the Second Verse Netflix / El Chapo insert and the state of the ‘Unruly One’ being a mockery jab within the first verse.
More interestingly are recent rumblings of some speculating a very very subliminal jab at the second city’s very own UpTopBoss o.c Teejay.
The controversial line that has many in awe, “yeah me see the plot(plat) boy dem nah nuh ball sense, yuh check di stats?” sang Alkaline.
Many within the industry have assimilated being a balla with Teejay following his 2019 smash hit single with Damage Records, no surprise there as fans easily decoded that cryptic jab by Alkaline.
Alkaline is scheduled to release a few more bangers prior to Summer 2020 after his the postponement of his poster event New Rules due to the COVID19 pandemic.
