Jack Ma, Chinese tech titan and the founder of Alibaba is scheduled to donate some 3,000 testing kits, 4 ventilators & 30,000 surgical masks to Jamaica, according to the Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Tian Qi.
Ambassador Qi announced news of the donation in an op-ed published in the Jamaica Gleaner yesterday.
It’s the latest effort from Chinese nationals in helping Jamaica to limit the spread of the deadly virus.
Members of the Chinese community in Jamaica, have so far donated $3million worth of medical and sanitary supplies to the South East Regional Health Authority, to help fight COVID-19.
The items include 20 boxes of N95 masks, surgical gowns, surgeon gloves and hand sanitisers.
A representative of the Chinese community in Jamaica, Jessica Wu, says they have a responsibility to help Jamaica to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
She says the group will also make other donations across the island.

in his op-ed, Ambassador Qi, stated that the Chinese Government will also donate medical supplies, including N95 surgical masks, disposable medical isolation gowns, disposable medical boot cover, medical protective glasses, disposable medical gloves, and forehead thermometer, to Jamaica.
