Busy Signal is back on the Jamaican music market with a follow up single for his 2018 smash hit single Stay So.
The launch of the mini movie “Seen It Before” produced and directed by Dameon Gayle for Warrior Musick Productions in association with VP Records began with a Director’s talk back, with members of the cast and key media outlets from around the world. Not the usual set up for a new song and music video but, this is not an average music video.
The story line for Seen It Before connects the characters and conflicts from the 2018 mega-video Stay So with the latest Busy Signal release.
The experience is like a short film with extensive dialog, peppered by the music from both songs to accentuate this all-too-common ghetto reality -violence begets violence.
The lyrics of the song illustrate Busy Signal’s understanding and lament,
“Two fren a par, shot fire, skull bore, I’ve seen it all before, prison an’ morgue cyah hol’ nuttin’ more I’ve seen it all before.”States Busy Signal.
The video was shot in Kingston, Jamaica between February, and September 2020, by Dameon Gayle, who produced and directed music videos for recent Busy Signal hits “One Way”, “Dolla Van” and”100% (featuring Afro B ).”

Born Reanno Gordon, Busy Signal burst onto the dancehall scene as part of iconic deejay Bounty Killer’s Alliance crew over a decade ago, establishing himself as a major factor in the genre with his breakthrough hit “Step Out” and an album by the same name.
Successive projects like Loaded and D.O.B. further showcased Busy’s outside-the-box lyrical displays and eclectic ear for rhythms and, in 2012, he went back to basics with Reggae Music Again, an all-reggae set selected as one of the Top 10 albums of the year by the BBC.
In addition to solo work, Busy has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Major Lazer, who featured him on their 2013 international smash “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)” and “Jump” off 2017’s Know No Better EP, as well as on the title track from No Doubt’s Major Lazer-produced album Push and Shove.
A remixed version of “Jump” can be heard in Bacardi’s “Dance Floor” commercial campaign currently airing on TVs across North America.
