The Ministries of Tourism and Agriculture are promoting an online tool to link farmers and buyers as the COVID19 pandemic is expected leave farmers with some 20-thousand tones of excess crops previously destined for hotels.

State Minister in Agriculture, Floyd Green, says the downturn being faced by hotels threatens gains made in tourism and agriculture linkages.

As the COVID-19 Pandemic has brought tourism to a standstill, farmers have been particularly hit with no where to unload their produce.

Minister Green speaking during a recent press briefing says the Alex App launched by the Ministry of Tourism has been helpful in keeping farmers afloat.

He’s encouraging individuals to use the app to purchase some of the excess produce on offer.
