Spiritual advisor Nardo “RT Boss” Smith has predicted that Shenseea will overthrow Spice as Dancehall Queen this year.
On Monday RT Boss took to Instagram to make his bold prediction, claiming that the gates were wide open for the star.
“Shenseea new queen of dancehall 2021 and more… Gate pull your Time now,” he declared in an Instagram story.
According to RT Boss, “Shenyang time gate pull” suggesting he has used his ‘special abilities’ to clear the way for her. Smith had previously claimed that he positioned Spice to reign supreme Lady Saw and others for years.
RT Boss’ predictions come just days after fans began whispering that Shenseea could be ready for the throne.
The “Lighter” deejay sent tongues wagging over the weekend after she dropped a viral freestyle video. The clip saw her oozing with confidence as she showcased her razor sharp lyrics and wordplay.
The video had many talking, with a few fans even comparing the Jamaican to rapper Nicki Minaj. Among the admirers were US actress Lala Anderson, rapper Missy Elliot, and Jamaican-born model Winnie Harlow.
However, although she feels flattered, Shenseea says she is not concerned about titles or crowns.
“I’m honored that they (the fans) see me as such (the next dancehall queen) but it wasn’t a title I’ve always wanted. I want to do music and enjoy it for the fun not because it is expected of me to do so.” she told the Jamaica Star.
According to the deejay, her main focus remains putting out good music and enjoying what she loves.
“I feel exposed — in a good way of course — and I’m grateful for that because I get to showcase my talent while representing the culture. But it wasn’t even a goal of mine to prove them (naysayers) wrong. I’ve just been exercising my passion because I genuinely love what I do.”
