The late Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert and the Maytals, Buju Banton, Skip Marley, Maxi Priest & The Wailers are the Grammy nominees in the Best Reggae Album category.

The 63rd annual Grammy Awards nominations list was published on their official website Tuesday (November 24).

Best Reggae Album nominees:

1. Skip Marley – Higher Place

5. The Wailers – One World

This marks Toots Hibbert’s fifth Grammy nomination in the Best Reggae album category. The last time Toots and the Maytals won the Grammy Award was back in 2005 for their “True Love” album.

Buju Banton landed his sixth nomination, the “Blessed” singer won back in 2011 with his album. “Before the Dawn”. Maxi Priest who secured his third nomination, has never won a Grammy Award.

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards takes place on Sunday, January 31, 2021. It will recognise the best recordings, compositions and artistes of the year running from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020.
