More About Langi
With a one-of-a-kind sound, Langi is quickly rising on the international scene as one of Jamaica’s most promising talents.
Khalangi Gayle was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in the parish of St. Catherine where he fell in love with music at an early age. As a child, he began to learn the piano, guitar, and steel-pan before he hit puberty, and at the age of fifteen he had already attained many distinctive honors pertaining to music at his school.
At sixteen-years-old, Langi would leave Jamaica to study music abroad before being admitted into the Sonic Art Program at CCNY. He would graduate in 2019 with a bachelor in Music and Audio Engineering.
Known for his exotic melodies and smooth delivery, the twenty-three-year-old artist blends reggae and dancehall with a myriad of other genres like trap, jazz, and house, to create an exquisite sonic palette never heard before.
The tone and timbre of his voice makes him stand out over any instrumentation he is accompanied by, and listeners will unmistakably know when they hear his records.
This has led Langi music to be featured on many different radio and television programs, including Jamaica’s esteemed Zip 103FM and NYC’s prominent hip-hop station, Power 105.
His music has also found its way onto established blogs like Earmilk, Bashy Magazine, Grungecake, Aipate and The Jamaica Star.
Langi, now deemed as a fan favorite to music lovers and industry heads alike, is gearing up to release his new EP “Traphall,” which features smash hits like “Patience” and “Saucy Bredda”.
Having been awarded Artist of the Year twice by the Laurelton Community, he believes that this release will propel him towards the next steps in his budding career. For Langi, music is not only a form of art, but a life journey. He invites you to come along for this journey and step into “Di Future”.
