According to Loop, The atmosphere, ambience and general vibe at the concert left little to be desired and once again it was evident that Rebel Salute is a plus for brand Jamaica and must be regarded as one of the world’s finest reggae festivals.

Sanchez delivered strong. The sweet singing vocalist earned an encore during his heart-rending rendition You Raise Me Up. He also paid tribute to the late great icons, Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown and Sugar Minott.

As the sun rose, Richie Spice entered to howls of approval and he did not disappoint.  He sang hits such as Youth Dem Cold, Marijuana and Righteous Youth.

Tony Rebel also made his mark, as did the popular Nesbeth, who armed with his popular hits stormed the Rebel Salute stage barefooted and stamped his class performing his 2016 hit single ” My Dream”

Other creditable performances came from the fast rising Kabaka Pyramid, Hero, Tanto Metro and Devonte, Everton Blender, Bugle, Nature and the closing duo of Louis Culture and Jah Mason.

If there was a downside to the event, it was the non-appearance of Michael Rose and Christopher Martin.
